Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Chess Path ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Chess Path provides interactive chess lessons, tactical puzzles, and endgame training modules delivered through a web application. The Service is available in a free tier and a premium tier with additional content.

3. Accounts

You must create an account to access the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate and current information during registration.

4. Payments and Subscriptions

Premium access is available as a one-time lifetime purchase ($19) or a recurring monthly subscription ($4.99/month). Payments are processed by Dodo Payments. All charges are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

5. Intellectual Property

All content on Chess Path — including lessons, puzzle positions, graphics, and code — is owned by Chess Path or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

6. User Conduct

You agree not to misuse the Service. Prohibited conduct includes attempting to circumvent access controls, reverse engineering the application, scraping content in bulk, or using the Service for any unlawful purpose.

7. Fair Play

Rated battles must be played without assistance from chess engines, analysis tools, or other players. Rating manipulation — including deliberately losing to inflate another account's rating — is prohibited. Accounts are personal and non-transferable; sharing your account credentials with another person is not permitted. Violations may result in rating adjustments, suspension, or permanent termination of your account.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chess Path shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the Service or its users.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Karnataka, India. If you access the Service from outside India, you acknowledge that your data is processed subject to Indian law and you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of Karnataka, India for the resolution of any disputes.
